🇨🇦 Express Entry Update: 5,000 ITAs in French-Language Draw

IRCC has just issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in a French‑language category-based Express Entry draw with a cut-off of 399. But that doesn’t mean everyone with 399 was invited — or that French alone is enough.

IRCC has just issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in a French‑language category-based Express Entry draw with a cut-off of 399. But that doesn’t mean everyone with 399 was invited — or that French alone is enough. On July 22, 2026, IRCC held a category-based French-language Express Entry round (2026–Version 2). A total of 5,000 ITAs were issued, and the CRS score of the lowest‑ranked candidate invited was 399. However, a CRS of 399 did not automatically lead to an invitation: the tie‑breaking rule meant that if multiple candidates had 399 points, only those who submitted their profiles before November 19, 2025 at 21:21:56 UTC were invited. To be considered in this French-language category, candidates must first be eligible for at least one Express Entry program (FSW, CEC or FST), have valid French test results at NCLC 7 or higher in reading, writing, listening and speaking, meet the specific round instructions, and still rank among the highest‑scoring eligible candidates. If you received an ITA, you have 60 days to submit a complete PR application, and IRCC will carefully verify your program eligibility, CRS points, French-language evidence and admissibility — an ITA is not an approval. If you were not invited, it’s important to keep your profile accurate and up to date and to understand that this cut‑off does not predict future French‑language draws.
