📈 New Express Entry PNP Draw: What a 768 Cutoff Really Means

IRCC has issued 507 new Invitations to Apply under a Provincial Nominee Program–only Express Entry draw. The cutoff score was 768 — but that does not mean everyone now needs 768 points. On 4 August 2026, IRCC held a program-specific Express Entry draw for candidates with a qualifying provincial or territorial nomination. In this round, 507 invitations were issued and the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 768, with a tie‑breaking date of 15 May 2026. Because a valid Express Entry–aligned nomination adds 600 points to your CRS, this cutoff reflects the combination of a candidate’s base score plus the 600‑point nomination bonus, and should not be compared directly with general or category‑based draws. A nomination can significantly improve your position in the pool, but it is not automatic. You must first qualify for at least one Express Entry–managed federal program, then meet the requirements of a participating provincial or territorial stream, receive the nomination, accept it in your Express Entry profile, and continue to meet both federal and provincial criteria. If you received an Invitation to Apply, you generally have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application online, confirm that your nomination is still valid, recalculate your CRS if your situation has changed, and make sure your documents are consistent with both your federal profile and your provincial application. An invitation is not an approval of permanent residence — IRCC will still review eligibility, documents, admissibility and the accuracy of all information. If you were not invited in this round, it does not mean that 768 points are required for every Express Entry pathway.
