📊 New Ontario EOI Points: How Your Job Offer Is Scored

Ontario has quietly changed how it scores candidates with job offers. If you’re aiming for an OINP Employer Job Offer stream, how you calculate your EOI points just became even more important. Under the updated Ontario EOI model (often called Ontario Workforce Priority), a profile supported by a valid job offer can now score up to 130 points. Your points are based on a combination of factors, including your NOC and TEER level, hourly wage, Ontario work experience, income reported to CRA, current status in Canada, education (with ECA for foreign studies), language scores, and the region of your job in Ontario. For example, higher TEER levels, stronger English or French (CLB 9+), work in Northern or other regions outside Toronto, and higher wages can all increase your ranking. A few important points to keep in mind: NOC is determined first by your job duties, not just the job title. Every point you claim in your EOI must be supported by documents later (such as job offer, pay records, Notice of Assessment, work permits, ECA, test results). The EOI score does not replace program eligibility requirements and does not guarantee an invitation – it is simply the ranking system Ontario uses when selecting candidates. New registrations for this updated EOI system are expected to open later this summer.
