Recent Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draws are inviting candidates at relatively low scores — but only those who already had active profiles in the system are benefiting. We are seeing new invitation activity under the OINP Employer Job Offer category, including the In-Demand Skills stream and the Foreign Worker stream (with IT roles among those invited). Based on client files, some invitations are going out at comparatively low scores, even before any official draw details appear on the Ontario website. At the same time, there is no fixed schedule for these draws, and they are happening without advance notice. The key pattern: invitations are going to candidates who already had a complete Expression of Interest (EOI) profile and an eligible Ontario employer. Since OINP does not automatically consider you without an EOI, waiting for “perfect timing” or clear trends can mean missing opportunities when Ontario runs a targeted, unannounced draw. If you have (or expect to have) a qualifying Ontario job offer and your employer meets program requirements, it may be worth exploring whether to set up your EOI in advance.
