📩 IRCC Request Letter for Your PR File? Read This First

IRCC just asked for more documents on your permanent residence file – is it a problem, and what do you do next? IRCC request letters are now a very common part of permanent residence processing. They don’t automatically mean something is “wrong”, but they do mean an officer needs more information before moving forward – and how you respond can impact your application. Recently, we’re seeing three types of requests again and again: (1) Schedule A (IMM 5669) that must be fully complete, signed as instructed in the letter, and consistent with every detail you already declared; (2) a detailed resume where dates, duties, education and locations line up with your PR forms and supporting documents; and (3) updated or re-submitted documents you already uploaded before. It can feel strange to send the same document twice, but this is normal and often related to clarity, expiry dates, or quality issues. If you received a request letter, read it carefully, watch the deadline, and make sure your answers and documents are accurate and consistent with your entire immigration history.
