IRCC has just invited 5,000 French-speaking candidates through a category-based Express Entry draw held on August 19, 2026. This round targeted candidates with strong French-language proficiency. To be considered, candidates needed valid results from an IRCC-approved French test at NCLC 7 or higher in speaking, listening, reading and writing, with test results less than two years old. They also had to be in the Express Entry pool and qualify under at least one federal program: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Trades Program. In this draw, 5,000 invitations to apply were issued, with a minimum CRS score of 382. A CRS of 382 on its own did not guarantee an invitation: candidates first needed to meet the French-language category requirements and be eligible under an Express Entry program, then be ranked high enough in the pool. IRCC also applied its usual tie-breaking rule, giving priority to profiles submitted before the published tie-break date and time where candidates had the same CRS score. Receiving an invitation to apply is only the start of the permanent residence application stage. IRCC will still review program eligibility, language results, supporting documents, the accuracy of the Express Entry profile and admissibility. If you received an invitation in this draw (or are aiming for a future round), ATA Immigration can help assess your Express Entry options, review your French scores and CRS, and support you in preparing a complete, well-documented application. 📊 Learn more about Express Entry and category-based draws: https://www.ataimmigration.com/immigration-canada 📝 Explore work and PR-focused services for skilled workers: https://www.ataimmigration.com/work-permit-canada 📅 Book a consultation to review your Express Entry profile and French scores: https://www.ataimmigration.com/book-online
